KJEØYA Harstad |
|
Stone Age rock painting. Kjeøya is a small island north of Harstad. On the western shore of the island, on top of a bushy slope, rises a vertical cliff where paintings cover an area of about 2 x 2 meters on its light-colored surface. The subjects are mainly human figures, but on the right there are also net figures, and on the bottom left an elk painted in outline. Kjeøya on pieni saari Harstadin pohjoispuolella. Saaren länsirannalla, pusikkoisen rinteen päällä, kohoaa pysty kallio, jonka vaalealle pinnalle on maalattu kuvia noin 2 x 2 metrin alueelle. Aiheina on pääasiassa ihmishahmoja, mutta oikealla on myös verkkokuvioita ja vasemmalla alhaaa ääriviivalla maalattu hirvi.
