FLÅBERGA

Lødingen
Nordland, Norge

Stone Age polished rock art.

Flåberga features polished rock art in at least three sites. Of these, distinct motifs can only be seen in the first one: a porpoise, a cervid, and a seal. In addition, on a rounded rock corner to the left, there are lines that possibly refer to a boat depiction. The rock face above this also contains unidentified marks.

The second site is situated about 100 metres south-west of the first. There are only minor traces at this location. The third site is a further 300 metres to the south-west. On the rock outcrops behind a small pond, there are traces of perhaps two boat depictions.

Flåbergassa on hiottua kalliotaidetta ainakin kolmessa kohteessa. Näistä vain ensimmäisestä pystyy erottamaan selkeitä kuvioita: pyöriäisen, hirvieläimen ja hylkeen. Lisäksi pyöreässä kalliokulmassa vasemmalla on mahdollisesti venekuvaan viittaavia viivoja. Myös tämän yläpuolella olevassa kalliopinnassa on tunnistamattomia jälkiä.

Toinen paikka sijaitsee edellisestä noin sata metriä lounaaseen. Paikalla on vain vähäisiä jälkiä. Kolmas paikka on edelleen noin 300 metriä lounaaseen. Pienen lammen takana kalliopaljastumissa on jälkiä ehkä kahdesta venekuvasta.
